To insure that no member of CBTA will abuse the privilege of horseback riding across private or public property, the following rules are adopted.
1. THE RIGHTS OF THE PROPERTY OWNERS GRANTING PERMISSION FOR A TRAIL ACROSS THEIR LAND MUST BE RESPECTED AT ALL TIMES. You are a guest on their land. Be courteous to landowners and let them know how much you appreciate the pleasure they are providing you. Be thoughtful so a landowner’s privacy- keep your voices down near their home. Walk your horse down any driveway or trail that passes close to a house or by any pasture where you may disturb livestock. ONE irresponsible person can cause the closing of a trail.
2. HORSEBACK RIDERS ASSUME ALL RISK FOR INJURY TO THEMSELVES OR THEIR HORSE. ASTMI helmet is required while riding the trails
3. Wear you ID tags at all times on the trails. Privileges are issued on an annual basis, subject to revocation if discourtesies and/or abuse of trails occur.
4. Clean up all manure in parking area and driveways.
5. USE THE ASSOCIATION TRAILS ONLY. Horseback riders must stay on established trails. When riding in proximity to fields under cultivation, stay close to the edge. Do not use any landowner’s schooling facilities, jumps, rings, training tracks, playing fields, etc. Do not jump obstacles unless necessary in order to follow the trail. Do not alter any fence you have PERMISSION to jump.
6. No dogs are allowed to accompany riders on CBTA trails off the member’s property.
7. Trails are closed when damage to trails is likely. If you wouldn’t ride on your lawn, you shouldn’t ride on the trails. Trails are closed during hunting season except on Sunday. Beware hunting is allowed on Sundays on land posted Semi-Wild.
8. The trail system is open to members only. Members may bring up to two guests with them on the trails but each guest must sign a day membership form and pay a fee of $1.00. Members must accompany day members.
9. Report any downed fences, trees or other unexpected hazards or obstacles to an committee member. Do what you can to make the condition safe until further action can be taken.
10. Landowners and/or the Delaware Twp police will be notified of any trespassers on CBTA trails.
